YITSKHOK-AVROM EYKHEL (ISAAC ABRAHAM EUCHEL)
(October 17, 1756-June 14, 1804)
He was born in Copenhagen. He was one of the most active pioneers in the
Berlin Jewish Enlightenment and co-editor of Hameasef (The collector). He
authored the comedy, Reb henikh, oder vos
tut men damit? (Reb Henikh, or what is to be done?), circulated for a time
in manuscript and thereafter was published, one edition in Germanized Latin
script (Berlin, 1864). He died in
Berlin.
