ITSIK BEN PEYSEKH HAHN

ITSIK BEN PEYSEKH HAHN (b. 1800)
He was born in Hamburg, Germany.  He was the author of: An algemeynnoytiges luekh fon fargangene 50 yor un tsukunftign 80 yorn zovol im yidishn un kristlikhn (An all-purpose calendar for the past fifty years and the next eighty years both Jewish and Christian) (Altona, 1819), 96 pp., with various and sundry tables and a foreword in which the author explained the ways to make use of the calendar for the Jewish populace, and primarily for the smaller Jewish communities which might still confuse the dates of the Jewish holidays.  According to the written consent of the then rabbi of Hamburg, Mendl Frankfurt, the author, a lad of nineteen, was a prodigy accomplished in every way and with his calendar had performed a highly useful thing for the Jewish faith.
