LOZER EYKHEL

LOZER EYKHEL (January 28, 1912-February 28, 1942)

     Born in Warsaw.  He studied in a Tarbut school as well as in Krinsky’s Yiddish-Polish high school.  In the period 1935-1939, he was a contributor and later an editor of Folkstsaytung fun sport (People’s newspaper for sports)—a special weekly page in the Warsaw Nayer folkstsaytung (New people’s newspaper).  From age seventeen he worked as a printer for Yiddish-Polish daily newspapers.  From 1928 he became an active sportsman.  He belonged to the Warsaw managing committee and to the all-Polish headquarters of the Workers’ Sports Association, “Morgnshtern” (Morning star).  He took part in the Vienna Workers’ Sports Olympics in 1931.
