MEYER GEYER (May 4, 1875-June 18, 1947)
He was born in Lemberg, brother of
the writer Shiye Geyer. He received a
traditional Jewish education. He later
studied in the University of Vienna. He
began publishing articles on Zionist themes in Togblat (Daily newspaper)
in Lemberg and later was for a time the editor of this newspaper. He also published articles in Yontef
bleter (Holiday leaves) (Brin, 1917).
He was a prominent community leader in Galicia and a member of the Lemberg
Jewish community council. He emigrated
to the United States in 1937, and he died in New York.
