SHLOYME KLAGSBRUN (b. September 16, 1907)
He was born
in Melits (Mielec),
Galicia. After the ghettos and camps in
Poland, he fled to Paris in 1949 and to Israel in 1954. In book form: Melitser yidn (Jews of Mielec) (Tel Aviv: Nay-lebn, 1979), 288
pp. He depicts the life and death of his
town. One chapter of the book, entitled “Erev
rosheshone” (The eve of Rosh Hashana), was published separately as a booklet (Tel
Aviv, 1968), 32 pp.
