AVROM KENIG


AVROM KENIG (December 2, 1906-July 12, 1983)
            He was born in Hrubishov (Hrubieszów).  From 1912 he was living in Lodz.  He studied in a “cheder metukan” (improved religious elementary school) and later in a high school.  At the beginning of September 1939, he left for Warsaw.  He survived Treblinka, Majdanek, and Dachau.  In 1946 he emigrated to Montevideo.  From 1972 he was a member of the editorial board of the Bundist monthly Tsayt-fragn (Issues of the day).  His pen names: K-g and A. K. Marval.  From time to time he wrote about episodes from the ghetto in Haynt (Today) in Montevideo and Di prese (The press) in Buenos Aires.  He died in Montevideo.
