YOYSEF
PAKRASO (b. April 10, 1868)
He was born in Brusilov (Brusyliv), Kiev
district, Ukraine. He lived in Kiev and published
articles in the Russian, Hebrew, and Yiddish press, in: Hamelits (The advocate) in Odessa; Hatsfira (The siren) and elsewhere in Warsaw; and in Sholem Aleichem’s
Yudishe folksbiblyotek (Jewish people’s
library) (Kiev) 2 (1889), he published his adaptation (following Graetz), “Di
maranen oder di anusim in shpanyen” (The Marranos or anusim in Spain). He also
contributed to Yidishe folksblat
(Jewish people’s newspaper) in St. Petersburg.
