PELITSH (PELICH) (1889-October 16, 1949)
He was born in a town near Kamenets-Podolsk,
Ukraine. From 1919 he was living in the
United States. He was a sweatshop
worker. He published poems, articles,
and essays in: Di feder (The pen), Gerekhtikeyt (Justice), Fraye arbeter-shtime (Free voice of
labor), Abba Gordin’s Yidishe shriftn
(Yiddish writings), Idisher kemfer
(Jewish fighter), and Nyu-yorker
vokhnblat (New York weekly newspaper), among others. In book form: In likht fun shotn, proze in ferzn (In light from shadows, prose in
verse) (New York, 1937), 128 pp.; Ikh,
meditatsyes in ferzn (I, meditations in verse) (New York, 1940), 192
pp. He died in New York.
