PAPIRMAYSTER (1887-January 25, 1931)
He was born in Tukum (Tukums), Latvia. In 1905 he joined the Bund, later switching
to the Communists. He wrote for the
Bundist press in Russian and Yiddish.
From 1921 he served as editor of all leftist publications in Russian and
Yiddish in Latvia, among them those brought out by “Unzer tsukunft” (Our
future) publishers in Riga in 1921 and 1930.
He co-edited the monthly periodical Nay
erd (New earth) to encourage productivity among the masses (Riga, 1928-1930). He died in Riga.
