YITSKHOK BLOKH (b. August 11, 1879)
He was born in Halitses, Kherson district, Russia. In 1904 he settled in Sokal, eastern Galicia. In 1905 he started publishing in Tageblat
(Daily newspaper) in Lemberg. He
contributed to: Tog (Day) in Craocw and Gut morgn (Good morning)
in Odessa. In 1921 he emigrated to the
United States. He contributed pieces to Di
tsayt (The times) and Der amerikaner (The American) in New
York). Among his books: A yung neshomele, psikhishe eyndrikn fun a foter (A young soul, a father’s psychological impression)
(Lemberg, 1914), 46 pp. From 1923 he was
living in Arizona in a sanatorium for tuberculosis sufferers.
