BERL REZNIKOVITSH


BERL REZNIKOVITSH (b. 1903)
            He was born in Smilg (Smilgiai), Lithuania.  He was among the first Jewish pioneers in Uruguay, where he arrived in 1924.  In 1926 he began publishing (with Moyshe Orzukh) the weekly newspaper Unzer lebn (Our life), and in 1931 the first Yiddish daily newspaper in Uruguay: Der tog (The day)—both in Montevideo.
