BENYOMEN RESSLER (1845-ca. 1913)
He was
born in Seret, Bukovina. He translated
into a highly Germanized Yiddish Mayse
tuvye (The story of Tobias) (Lemberg: Hirsh Shlag, 1882), 36 pp., second
edition (1904). He also translated works
by Avraham Mapu: Ashmat shomron (Shomron’s
guilt), Ahavat tsiyon (Love of Zion),
and Ayit tsavua (Hypocrite), and
others. His family was living in the
land of Israel. He died in Jassy (Iași),
Romania.
