SHIYE RUBINTSHIK (JOSHUA RUBINCHEK)
He lived
in Minsk. He authored Sefer haḥen, hu ḥinukh
nearim (The book of charm, on the education of boys) (Vilna: Fain
Rozenkrantz, 1868), 30 pp. The author takes
Tanakh language and explains in a folkish Yiddish. At the end there appears: “Rules of spelling
Yiddish masculine and feminine nouns, useful old-style words, [and] household
remedies.” He also published: Seyfer moshl vekhide (Book of parable
and riddles) (Vilna, 1985), 23 pp.
