RUVN RUTSHIK

RUVN RUTSHIK (d. 1941)

            He was a journalist and poet, born in Volkovisk (Wołkowysk), Poland.  He studied in religious elementary school and yeshiva.  He worked as a teacher in Wołkowysk, later in Bialystok.  He began publishing poetry in the children’s magazine Ben-shakhar, later as well in Yud (Jew), among others.  He served as editor of Volkovisker lebn (Wołkowysk life) (1926-1939).  He published in it numerous poems and feature pieces.  He was killed in 1941.
