MOYSHE KARTON (b. 1888)
He was
born in Myastkivke (Myastkovka [now, Horodkivka]), Podolia. He studied in the Kishinev yeshiva. He experienced the pogroms in Ukraine. After WWI he was living in the United
States. He wrote for: Di tsayt (The times), Fraye arbeter shtime (Free voice of
labor), Tsukunft (Future), Di feder (The pen), and Nay-idish (New Yiddish), among other
serials. In book form: Ukraine 1919 (Ukraine 1919) (New York,
1926), 207 pp.—a cycle of poems about the pogroms.
