LEYZER KARDUNER (LUIS KARDÚNER)


LEYZER KARDUNER (LUIS KARDÚNER) (1906-June 12, 1978)
            From 1912 he was living in Mendoza, Argentina, and in 1936 he settled in Buenos Aires.  The language for his creative writing was Spanish, and into that language he translated Stempanyu (Stempanyu) by Sholem-Aleichem, Profesor sheling (Professor Sheling) by H. Leivick, Shabes un andere dertseylungen (Sabbath and other stories) by Y. Opatoshu (Buenos Aires, 1952), 112 pp., and a short anthology of eight Yiddish poets who were murdered in Soviet Russia: Antologia de poetas judíos, inmolados en la Unión Soviética (Buenos Aires, 1975), 39 pp.  He died in Buenos Aires.
