KHANE-LEYE (HANNAH-LEAH) KHVIDANSKI

KHANE-LEYE (HANNAH-LEAH) KHVIDANSKI (b. 1902)
She was born in Plotel (Plotl, Plotele), Kovno district, Lithuania.  She was the daughter of a rabbi in Ponevezh.  She was raised in a stringently religious spirit, while also demonstrating a love for Yiddish literature; from her youth, she wrote poetry for herself.  She published the booklet Gedikhte und aforizmen (Poetry and aphorisms) (Ponevezh, 1922), 32 pp.  In 1925 she moved to New York, married a rabbi, and continued writing poetry—in a religious spirit, though she did not publish them.
