LAZARUS (1884-September 29, 1944)
He was born in Bobruisk,
Byelorussia, and was raised in London, England, where his parents immigrated
and where his father, Leyzer Leyzerovitsh, would later become the European
correspondent for Morgn-zhurnal (Morning
journal) in New York. Nosn studied in
English schools and Jewish subjects privately.
After his father’s death, he became a contributor to Morgn-zhurnal, and over the course of
thirty-five years, he regularly published in it reportage pieces on Jewish as
well as general political events in England and other Western European
countries. He was also active in the
Zionist movement and played an important role in Jewish community life in
London. He died in London.
