YANKEV SHEYN (1848-June 1913)
He was
born in Eperies (Eperjes), Hungary, and immigrated to the United States in
1879. He was active in the socialist fraternal
movement. He was said to have published
the first socialist writing in Yiddish in America in 1885, which until now has
yet to be located. He died in New York.
