FAYVL SHTERNBERG


FAYVL SHTERNBERG (ca. 1886-June 18, 1948)
            He was born in Kolomaye, Galicia.  He completed his law degree at the University of Vienna.  For a short time, he edited Der yudisher arbeter (The Jewish worker), organ of the Austrian Labor Zionists in Lemberg, and later he served as editor of the Labor Zionist weekly newspaper Di frayhayt (The freedom) in Czernowitz (issue no. 1: May 1, 1919).  From the middle of 1920 he was settled in Vienna and had distanced himself from the party.  He came to the United States in 1940.  He died in New York.
