BOREKH SHUR (1823-April 7, 1904)
He was
born in Lemberg. He was one of the most
popular cantors in Europe. He also
composed liturgical compositions. In
1890 he wrote for the Yiddish theater in Lemberg the operetta Shimshn hagiber (Samson the
strong man).
