LEYZER SHTEYN (b. July 12, 1895)
He was
born with the surname Shteynberg in Vilna.
He attended religious elementary schools and graduated from a Russian
public school. He lived in Canada, the
United States, and from 1962 Israel. He
wrote articles for: Forverts
(Forward), Yidishe tsaytung (Jewish
newspaper), and Problemen (Problems)
(Tel Aviv). He also penned the pamphlet:
Der emes vegn prezident ruzvelts tetikeyt
beysn natsi-kataklizm (The truth about President Roosevelt’s activities at
the time of the Nazi cataclysm) (Tel Aviv, 1974), 24 pp. He also wrote under the names Louis Shteyn
and Eliezer Even. He was last living in
Tel Aviv.
