YANKEV VIKER

YANKEV VIKER (1881-September 12, 1957)
            He was a journalist, born in Vilna.  From 1900 he was living in London and South Africa, and in 1906 he left for Canada.  For a time he edited Kanader id (Canadian Jew) and Dos yidishe vort (The Jewish word) in Winnipeg.  For many years he was a contributor to Keneder odler (Canadian eagle) in Montreal and placed pieces as well in Idishe zhurnal (Jewish journal) in Toronto.  From 1928 he was assistant editor of Shikager kuryer (Chicago courier).  He died in Chicago.
