PINKHES VILKENFELD

PINKHES VILKENFELD (b. 1897)
Until 1935 he lived in Torne (Tarnov, Tarnów), Galicia, where he worked as a bookkeeper.  He was the author of a Yiddish-language textbook for bookkeeping: Der nayer koyfmenisher rekhenmayster far zelbst-unterrikht (The new commercial calculator for self-instruction) (Toarnov, 1934), 82 pp.  This volume, which was highly useful due to a governmental decree that all small shops must keep their books, was extremely successful.  He lived until WWII in Cracow and Lemberg.  He subsequently disappeared without a trace.
