The pseudonym of Khayim-Yoysef Sheynfeld,
he was born in Jassy (Iași), Romania.
He was a Romanian Jewish historian and journalist, who translated many
works by Sholem-Aleykhem into Romanian, such as: Staţia Baranovici (original: Stantsye
