OSHER LIVERANT

OSHER LIVERANT (1884-March 11, 1936)
            He was born in Shedlets (Siedlce), Poland.  He studied in religious primary school and yeshiva, and secular subjects privately.  He established the library for the society “Yidishe kunst” (Jewish art).  He was the representative of the Odessa committee of Ḥoveve-tsiyon (Lovers of Zion) and founded a division of “Dovre sefat ever” (Speakers of the Hebrew language) in Shedlets.  He was a cofounder and contributor to Shedletser shtime (Voice of Siedlce), and from 1922 he wrote for Shedletser vokhnblat (Siedlce weekly newspaper) which he also edited.  He died in Shedlets.
