YEKHEZKL SOREZON (SARASOHN) (September 15, 1863-August
16, 1933)[1]
He was a
newspaper publisher, born in Suvalk (Suwałki), Poland, the son of Kasriel-Tsvi
Sorezon. He emigrated to the United
States in 1876. He studied to be a
lawyer. From his youth, he was tied to
his father’s Yiddish newspaper, and after the latter’s death, he took over
(with his brother-in-law Leon Kameyka) Yidishes
tageblat (Jewish daily newspaper) and Yudishe
gazetten (Jewish gazette). For a
short time, he also published Di yudishe
shpayz-gazet (The Jewish food gazette) in New York. He died in New York.
