ZALMEN
HOLTSBERG (May 23, 1923-August 28, 1981)
He was born in Kovno. He studied in the Tavriker Hebrew middle
school. In 1941 he graduated from a
Lithuanian high school. He was confined
in the Slobodka ghetto and later joined the partisans. After the war he was in Vilna, where he
graduated from the law faculty at Vilna University. In 1971 he made aliya to Israel. He published poetry in Yiddish periodicals in
the United States, Israel, and South Africa.

He died in Beersheba.
