Y. BANT (d. 1942)
He was from a laboring family, and later he became a laborer
himself, a printer. He joined the left
wing of the labor movement and participated in illegal leftist publishing. In 1940-1941, while the Soviet took control
over Latvia, he was on the editorial board of the Communist magazine Oyfboy
(Construction), Riga (around issue 12, 1940-1941). After the Nazi attack on Soviet Russia, he
volunteered to join the Red Army and fell in battle, probably in 1942.
