Y. BANT

Y. BANT (d. 1942)
He was from a laboring family, and later he became a laborer himself, a printer.  He joined the left wing of the labor movement and participated in illegal leftist publishing.  In 1940-1941, while the Soviet took control over Latvia, he was on the editorial board of the Communist magazine Oyfboy (Construction), Riga (around issue 12, 1940-1941).  After the Nazi attack on Soviet Russia, he volunteered to join the Red Army and fell in battle, probably in 1942.
