YOYEL TSANG (b. 1903)
He was
born in Belzshits (Bełżyce), near Lublin,
Poland. He received both a traditional and
a general education. Over the years
1923-1927, he studied humanities and journalism at the University of London,
later returning to Poland. In 1939 with
the start of war, he slipped out and returned to London. He was back in Poland, 1945-1948. From 1927 he was active as a journalist and
editor. He corresponded from Poland for the
Manchester Guardian in London and for
the Jewish Chronicle (also in
London), for which from 1948 he was the last editor for foreign Jewish
affairs. He also placed work in Parizer vokhnblat (Parisian weekly
newspaper) (1934-1936). He contributed
articles to: Unzer vort (Our word) in
Paris; and Morgn-zhurnal (Morning
journal) in New York; among others. He
published several volumes in Polish and English. He was last living in London.
