YEKHIEL TSVERGINSKI (1898-August 31, 1965)
He was
born in Lodz, Poland. He received a
Jewish and a general education. Until
1923 he worked as a teacher in Lodz in the Jewish girls’ high school. Later, until WWII, he lived in Paris, where
he graduated from the Sorbonne with a doctoral degree. He published popular scientific articles in: Lodzer tageblat (Lodz daily newspaper)
and Folksblat (People newspaper) in
Lodz; Haynt (Today) in Warsaw; and Parizer haynt (Paris today) in Paris;
among others. He authored scholarly
works in French and German. He escaped
from the Germans to Geneva and later died there.
