ARYE TSIDKUNI (b. 1910)
The
Hebraized name of Leybl Tsudkovitsh, he was born in Skernyevits (Skierniewice),
Poland, into a Hassidic family. Until
1932 he lived in Skierniewice and was active in the Zionist youth movement
and a literary-drama circle. Later, he
made aliya to the land of Israel. He was
a cofounder of the Israeli “Skierniewice Association of Former Residents” and
co-editor of Seyfer skernyevits (Volume
for Skierniewice) (Tel Aviv, 1955), 772 pp.
In it he had a monograph entitled “Unzer shtot” (Our town).
