AVROM FRIDMAN (1877-March 26, 1937)
He was
born in Lublin, Poland. In 1907 he moved
to Argentina. He was active in Jewish
community life there. He was cofounder
of a Jewish school. From 1915 until his
death, he was one of the principal leaders of the “Polish-Jewish Association”
in Argentina. He was an internal contributor
to the first Yiddish daily newspaper, Der
tog (The day), in Buenos Aires (1912-1913); later, until 1923, he wrote for
Idisher tsaytung (Jewish newspaper)
and was co-editor of Dos naye vort
(The new word) (1923-1936). He died in
Buenos Aires.
