VAYNSHTAT (1853-1921)
He was born in Bialystok to
observant parents. He studied in
religious elementary school and in a high school. He was a teacher in the Bialystok Gnesin
School. He devoted himself to translating
and adapting children’s literature for Jewish schools. He reworked Baynakht (Nighttime [original: Nochꞌiu]) by Vladimir Korolenko, edited by P.
