FALIK KATOVSKI (FELIX CATOVSKY) (May 23, 1908-July 19,
1993)
He was
born in Vertuzhen (Vertujeni), Bessarabia. He came from the home of a craftsman. He studied in religious elementary school, a
Tarbut school, and middle school. In
1930 he emigrated to Argentina. There he
began publishing stories in: Di prese
(The press) in Buenos Aires, as well as in Unzer
fraynt (Our friend) in Montevideo.
He was co-editor of Di vokh
(The week), Folks-shtime (Voice of
the people) (1939-1943), Der veg (The
way) (1945-1948), and Haynt (Today)
(1948-1952), and editor of Landsmanshaftn
(Native-place associations) (1952-1959)—in Buenos Aires. In book form: Kleynvarg, kinder-dertseylungen (Youngsters, children stories)
(Buenos Aires, 1945), 138 pp. He died in
Buenos Aires.
