YUDES KOLMAN (KALMAN) (December 25, 1904-February 25,
1982)
He was
born in Trashtsyanets (Trostyanets), Galicia.
He took private middle school courses, and in 1924 he arrived illegally
in the land of Israel. He spent time in
prison for his Communist work. From 1937
he was living in France. He escaped from
a internment camp in Vittel. He then
lived in Paris. He wrote literary
criticism for Paris’s Naye prese (New
press) from 1938 and Parizer tsaytshrift
(Parisian periodical). In book form: Fani kaptshuk-deverp, der lebns-veg fun der
antifashistisher kemferin (Fanny Kapciuch-Dewerpe, the life path of an
anti-fascist fighter) (Paris: Naye prese [Israel]), 32 pp. He died in Berdichev.
