AVROM KAPLAN (b. March 27, 1892)
He was
born in Brisk (Brest). He graduated from
a Chełm high
school as an external student. Over the
years 1912-1915, he published articles in: Haynt
(Today), Moment (Moment), Stern (Star) in Vilna, and Gut morgen (Good morning) in Odessa. He
collected materials on the towns of Polesia.
From this he published: “Di geshikhte fun der shtodt brisk-delite fun
1890-1915” (The history of the city Brisk of Lithuania, 1890-1915) in the
weekly Polyeser
shtime (Voice of Polesia) 24 (1923); “Polyeser
shtedt un shtedtlekh—pruzhani, pinsk, kobrin un slonim” (Cities and towns of
Polesia: Pruzhany, Pinsk, Kobrin, and Slonim) in Polyeser vokhenblat (Polesia weekly
newspaper) (1923). He was the author of Der khurbn fun brisk in der velt-milkhome
(The destruction of Brisk in the world war) (Brisk, 1925), 29 pp.
