ZALMEN KAPLAN


ZALMEN KAPLAN (1898-May 17, 1966)
            He was a Bundist leader, born in Kalish (Kalisz), Poland.  In 1960 he came to the United States.  He described his experiences during WWII in his Hinter di kratn in ratnfarband (Behind the grating in the Soviet Union) (Tel Aviv, 1959), 194 pp.  He also published memoirs in: Foroys (Onward) in Mexico City; Unzer shtime (Our voice) in Paris; and Lebns-fragn (Life issues) in Tel Aviv.  He died in North Bergen, New Jersey.
