YERAKHMIEL TSUKERMAN (ca. 1877-February 20, 1959)
He
studied in religious elementary school and yeshivas. In 1906 he came to the United States and
debuted in print with a story in Forverts
(Forward) in New York. From that point
on, he wrote stories, poems, and dramas.
He published in: Tog (Day), Fraye arbeter shtime (Free voice of
labor), Tog-morgn-zhurnal
(Day-morning journal), and Amerikaner
(American) in New York. He participated
in the ensemble of New York’s “Folks-bine” (People’s stage) and drama clubs. He left in manuscript: dramas, one-act plays,
poetry, and memoirs. He died in New
York.
