AYZIK GOTLIB (1913-March 3, 1943)
He was born in Kovno, a brother of
the poets and writers: Yankev, Noyekh-Yitskhok, and Avrom-Borekh Gotlib. He published book reviews and informative
articles on anarchist themes in Yiddish newspapers in Riga, Paris, and in Fraye
arbeter shtime (Free voice of labor) in New York. Over the years 1936-1939, he fought in the
Spanish Civil War. For a long stretch he
was held under arrest in the Soviet Union.
He died fighting the Nazis in Soviet Russia.
