YANKEV-ZELIG (JACOB SELIG) FUTERMAN


YANKEV-ZELIG (JACOB SELIG) FUTERMAN (b. 1858)
            He was born in Ovrutsh (Owrucz), Grodno district, Poland.  He studied in Grodno, Vilna, and Warsaw.  He was a businessman and commercial agent.  He authored stories and novels with morality themes, among them: Der aristokratisher tsadek, oder der lebediger mes, a sheyner roman (The aristocratic saint, or the living corpse, a lovely novel), with a poem in place of a foreword, “Here I am,” and poems within each chapter (Warsaw: Y. Levenzohn, 1889), 86 pp.; and Der futer oder der perl (The fur or the pelt) (Warsaw, 1894), 64 pp.
