SHLOYME-BER
(SOL) FARBSHTEYN
Hailing from Poland, he came to the
United States in the late nineteenth century.
He was a community leader and writer in Philadelphia. He was a cofounder of the local Yiddish
press. He contributed articles to: Filadelfyer prese (Philadelphia press)
and Di idishe velt (The Jewish
world), among others. He was a regular
contributor to the first Yiddish daily newspaper Filadelfyer morgentsaytung (Philadelphia morning newspaper)
(January-July 1907). Further
biographical details remain unknown.
