YITSKHOK
GRINBLAT (July 28, 1890-1957)
He was born in Vishnyeva, near
Volozhin, Vilna region. He studied in
religious elementary school, in Rameyle’s circle in Vilna, and in a Russian
school. He later worked in a
pharmacy. In 1907 he emigrated to the
United States to join his parents who had arrived earlier. For a time he had his own pharmacy in Newark,
New Jersey. In 1914 he began publishing
stories in Fraye arbete shtime (Free
voice of labor) in New York. He also
published a large number of stories about Jewish and general life in Amerikaner (American) and in Jewish Frontier in English, both in New
York.
