ARN KOYFMAN (August 22, 1891-1962)[1]
He was
born in Drazhne, Podolia. He lived for a
time in Odessa. In 1921 he emigrated to
Brazil. He was among the founders of Dos idishe vokhenblat (The Jewish weekly
newspaper) in Rio (1923). From issue 47,
he became the editor-publisher of the paper and in early 1927 it became a
semi-weekly organ entitled Brazilyaner
idishe prese (Brazilian Jewish press).
He was a contributor to Di prese
(The press) in Buenos Aires, in which he mainly published memoirs of his
hometown. He died in Rio de Janeiro.
