PINKHES TIKOTSHINSKI

PINKHES TIKOTSHINSKI (b. ca. 1900)
            He came from Bialystok.  He was a research student at YIVO in Vilna in 1938.  His research project was on the topic: “Yidn in mizrekh-eyrope beys der velt milkhome” (Jews in Eastern Europe during the world war [i.e., WWI]).  He published in Yivo-bleter (Pages from YIVO) (Vilna): “Shul un di shprakh-frages in der konstitutsye-debate in poylishe grindungs-seym” (School and the language issues in the constitutional debate in the founding Polish Sejm) 12.4-5 (1937), pp. 433-42; and “Dos shtetl zhager mit a fuftsik yor tsurik” (The town of Zhager [Žagarė] fifty years ago) 14.5 (1939), pp. 475-79; this last work was published earlier in Dos tsveyte yor aspirantur (Vilna: YIVO, 1938), pp. 51-60 [see below].  What happened to him after 1939 remains unknown.
