YITSKHOK-HENEKH ZONENBERG

YITSKHOK-HENEKH ZONENBERG (1859-1929)
            He lived in Aleksander, near Lodz, Poland, a relative of the Aleksander rebbe.  He was the author of storybooks about the miracles and magical signs of the Hassidic rebbes, such as: Der fayner kluger roymisher kenig, men firt tsvey yuden hengen (The fine, wise Roman emperor, two Jews led to the hangman), part 1 (Lodz, 1925/1926), 24 pp. (anonymous but clearly Zonenberg was the author); A zeyer sheyne vunderlikhe geshikhte fun heyligen rebbe henikh mialeksander (A very beautiful, wonder tale from the blessed rebbe, Henikh of Aleksander), “in two parts: (1) driving out two dybbuks from a girl, and (2) the captive robbers of the blessed rebbe Henikh, may the memory of a righteous person be blessed, from Aleksander” (Lodz, 1926), each part 24 pp.; A zeyer sheyne vunderlikhe mayse fun heyligen nesanel khosid (A very beautiful, wonderful story of the blessed, pious Nesanel) (Lodz, 1926), 33 pp.  He died in Lodz.
