NAFTOLI
ZIGEL (October 17, 1887-1962?)
He was born in Moshchiska (Mostys’ka),
eastern Galicia. He worked for a time as
a teacher in the smaller cities in Galicia, later settling in Lemberg where his
bookshop “Snunit” (Swallow) was a meeting place for Jewish writers in the
city. He published articles in
Yiddish-language newspapers: Lemberger
togblat (Lemberg daily newspaper), Der
morgn (The morning), and Morgnpost
(Morning mail) in Lemberg. Later he was
living in Israel, where for twenty-three years he worked as a teacher in
Kiryat-Motzkin. He was last living in
Tel Aviv.
