RUVN ZIGELBOYM

RUVN ZIGELBOYM (b. January 30, 1913)
            He was born in Krasnistav (Krasnystaw), Lublin district, Poland.  He spent his early childhood in Khelm (Chełm), later in Warsaw.  He played in Warsaw’s “Yung teater” (Young theater) and Bialystok’s state theater (1939).  He spent WWII in Soviet Russia.  In 1945 he came to Israel and from 1953 he was living in Johannesburg.  From that time he published stories and articles on literary topics in Dorem-afrike (South Africa) in Johannesburg, for which he was regular contributor, and for Afrikaner idishe tsaytung (African Jewish newspaper), and from time to time for: Unzer vort (Our word) in Paris, Foroys (Onward) in Mexico City, and Heimish (Familiar) in Tel Aviv.
