KHAYIM
ZILBERMAN (1900-December 1942)
He was born in Svislotsh (Swislocz), Volkovisk (Wołkowysk) district,
Russian Poland. In 1928 he graduated
from the medical faculty of Vilna University and until WWII practiced as a
doctor in Swislocz. He published
articles on literary topics and on cultural and school-related matters in Volkovisker lebn (Wołkowysk life) (1925-1938)
and in Frimorgn (Morning) in Riga,
among others. During the Nazi occupation,
he was interned in the Wołkowysk camp.
During Hanukkah 1942, together with a great number of Wołkowysk Jews, he
was deported to Treblinka and there murdered.
