YOKHEVED FUN HALICH HOFMAN

YOKHEVED FUN HALICH HOFMAN
She was the author of prayer book of poetry for women in archaic Yiddish, entitled Seyder tkhines ubekoshes mihaisha hatsanua vehakhaside (Common prayer book and supplications for the unassuming and pious woman).  These prayers for women go back conceivably to early nineteenth century.  They excel in their lyrical tone.  The most beautiful among them is “Ribon haolamim” (Master of the universe), intoned at the end of the Sabbath.
